Home
Home is in the faces on my wall
Home is in the letters from loved ones
Home is in FaceTime calls and “I miss you” texts
I search for Home in fresh faces and conversations
I search for Home in walks around campus
I search for Home in shared meals and How are you?’s
Searching for Home in new places feels unfamiliar
But Home is Home.
I once thought Home was a place
Perhaps where I grew up
Perhaps where I have yet to live
I once thought Home was in a single person
Perhaps someone understanding
Perhaps someone close
I once thought Home was far away
Sometimes it feels that way
But I can take home with me wherever I go
Home is in memories
Home is in people
Home is in nature
Home is all around
and Home is in me
