Bridgewater, Va. – On Dec. 25, Netflix released a new series called “Bridgerton.” What Netflix did not know was how popular the series would become.

According to CNet “’Bridgerton’ was watched by more than 82 million accounts in the first month, which makes it Netflix’s biggest series ever.”

The series begins like any other British period drama about the fancy folk. Daphne Bridgerton and her large family, including her widowed mother, are all trying to find love or avoid it at all costs.

Another important character in the series is Lady Whistledown — who gives “Bridgerton” a sense of an early-19th-century “Gossip Girl,” while also providing more background information on the plot and characters.

The series is also narrated by famous actress Dame Julie Andrews (“Mary Poppins,” “Sound of Music,” “Princess Diaries,” among other films and television series), who speaks for the mysterious character, Lady Whistledown. Viewers find out the true identity of Lady Whistledown  in the last episode.

“Bridgerton” had lots of expensive dresses and jewelry, a beautiful landscape and lots of love affairs.

Harper’s Bazaar talked about all of the beautiful clothing, stating that there were “around 7,500 costume pieces… and the leading actress, Phoebe Dynevor who played Daphne Bridgerton, had a whopping 104 costume changes.”

The series was inspired by Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels — which come in a series of nine books that were written from 2000 to 2013.

“Bridgerton” is a limited series, which is a program with an end-date and a limited number of episodes that are shown. In this specific limited series, the main topic is the love affair of Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Bassett.

According to NPR, “’Bridgerton’ is a delicious, raunchy tale of one very hot family.”

“Bridgerton” is one of the hottest series currently on Netflix and is recommended by many. If you like love affairs, family drama and intimate scenes, then this is the perfect series for you to indulge in.
