Bridgewater College Showcases Talented Students
-
Joseph Tran introduces BC’s Got Talent. Tran is a comedian and musician who announced each performer to the stage. He is located out of Los Angeles. He has a large portfolio of shows at other colleges, conferences and private parties.
-
Gauge Russell is a second year student; he plays guitar alongside his band which includes second year student Anna Williams and third year Jeffrey Robinson. BC’s Got Talent is a tradition that the college does every year.
-
Williams is playing the bass guitar with his band. BC’s Got Talent is a long awaited Homecoming event for many students.
-
Robinson plays on the drums with his three person band. BC’s Got Talent is an opportunity open to all Bridgwater College students.
-
Shaunice Boykin, a first year, sings as a solo performer at BC’s Got Talent. Contestants included groups and individuals, like Boykin.
-
Star Lebendig is a second year; they perform a spoken word poem and talk to Joseph Tran about their experience as a BC’s Got Talent contestant. Many students, like Lebendig, compete every year that they are a student.
-
Tran talks to band members third year Eli Priest, second year Jacob Fields, third year Abigail Ferguson and second year Estrella Ramos. Like many groups, these four friends had never performed all together before until BC’s Got Talent.
-
Izzy Green, a second year student, sings a solo act, she gives a thumbs up to the person in the booth in charge of sound.
-
Kenzie Taylor is a fourth year student; she sings an original song and plays guitar to accompany her performance. Taylor, like a few of the performers, has been singing on stage for a lot of her life.
-
Abby Nester is a fourth year student who is a solo performer and sings as she moves around the stage. Nester is a vocal performance major, but many of the other performers do not have a musical background.
-
Jadon Goldsmith, a fourth year, dances and utilizes the whole stage. Goldsmith told Tran after the performance that he had created the dance the night before. Students often don’t have much time to prepare for this event unless they had planned ahead for it.
-
Tran asks Goldsmith to show him one of his dance moves. Tran, who also presented last year, asked each contestant a couple of questions following their performance.
-
Madi Javed and Julia Garber are two fourth year students; they wave to the audience after their performance. Javed played guitar and Garber sang; they were the only duo this year.
-
Stephen Marsden, a third year, sang a solo while sitting down. Some students prefer to move around the stage or stand up, others prefer to sit.
-
Garber plays piano to accompany fourth years, Ewan Benjamin on guitar and Grayson Preece on cajón. This group did not compete but wanted to play one last time because they are all seniors.
-
The whole group stands up together as Tran declares the winners. The winners of the talent show were Taylor, Goldsmith, Marsden and the group consisting of Priest, Ferguson, Fields and Ramos.
