  • On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Bridgewater College’s Campus Engagement and Activities Team hosted a Fall Market out on the campus mall. Various student and professor organizations were present, as well as an alpaca petting zoo.

  • “This was just a smaller event, so there wasn’t supposed to be a lot [of organizations],” said CEAT member Mae Lotts. “So the people who we asked came. Actually, some people asked if they could come, like the Philomatheans, so we allowed them.”

  • The campus intramural table held a push-up contest for a chance to win an intramural t-shirt. The person with the most amount of push-ups by the end of the Fall market received the shirt.

  • Representatives from the Teacher Education Program were having student sign-ups for their hiking club and handing out cups of trail mix. • Juniors Emily Wylie and Lydia Hart were tabling for the English department’s Philamathean publication. The theme for this year is “Reflections of Our Times”, which reflects on the past and your identity.

  • “I’m really enjoying it so far,” said first-year Elizabeth Hipp, “I’ve only been here for about 45 minutes and participated in the push-up challenge, pet some alpacas and hung out with some friends. The food here is great, and I got some gourds for my dorm room. I am really excited for it all.”

  • Bridgewater Student Life and Residence Life staff were the DJs for the Fall Market. Director of Residential Life and Community Standards Alex Johnson (left), Coordinator of First Year Experience and Orientation Seiya Nomura (middle) and Area Director Keon Nesmith (Right).

  • “A lot is planned for next week’s homecoming,” said Lotts. “We have Spirit Week coming up, battleship, BC’s Got Talent, the bonfire, the fireworks show, a glow party and of course the festival on Saturday.”
