Bridgewater, Va. – The Bridgewater women’s and men’s swim team were back in the pool from Feb. 8-11 competing in the ODAC conference swim tournament. The women finished in fifth place while the men finished fourth. 

Women’s Swim

In the 200-yard freestyle relay finals, sophomore Melia Ross and juniors Katie Yoder, Isabelle Bauer and Katelyn Wiglesworth finished in fourth place with a time of 1:39.

Bauer placed eighth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.74 seconds, and sophomore Eve Umberger finished in 13th place in the 500-yard freestyle.

Wiglesworth finished 14th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:15.

Bauer, Wiglesworth, Umberger and sophomore Lexi Roberts finished in fifth place in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:07.  

Sophomore Maddy Gundler finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.

Bauer, Wiglesworth, Ross and Roberts finished fifth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52. 

Umberger finished ninth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00. 

Wiglesworth finished in sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59, while Yoder placed in 13th place with a time of 2:02. 

Bauer finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07, while Ross placed eighth with a time of 1:08. 

Roberts placed 11th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14, while junior Katie Talone placed 14th at 2:16. 

Bauer finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle in just 53 seconds while Wiglesworth placed right behind her at sixth. 

Ross, Yoder, Wiglesworth and Bauer all placed fourth in the 400-yard freestyle at a time of 3:39. 

The Women’s swim team finished in fifth place at the ODAC tournament and finished with 300 points. 

Men’s Swim

Sophomore Ean Helmlinger and first-years Albert McNaul, Kris Schultz and Andrea Cibrario placed third in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:59. 

Cibario placed first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:52, and is the first person in program history to win an event championship.  

Helmlinger finished seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:43. 

Juniors Thomas Rose and Jack Cantaneo, first-year Ben Beaudoin and Cibario finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:26. 

Cibario, Beaudoin, sophomore Jose Urdaneta and junior Luke Wintergill finished fourth in the 400-yard medley relay at a time of 3:32. 

Cataneo, Wintergill, Rose and Beaudoin placed fifth in the 200-yard medley relay finals with a time of 1:37. 

Cibario placed third with a time of 4:05 in the 400-yard IM. 

Schultz finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle at a time of 1:45. 

Wintergill finished second placed in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56 seconds. Beaudoin finished 14th at a tie of 1:01, and Eric Wilbur placed 16th with a time of 1:02. 

Helmlinger placed fifth in the 1600-yard freestyle with a time of 16:32, while Albert McNaul placed 17th with a time of 18:56. 

Cibario placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52. 

Urdaneta placed seventh in the 200-yard backstroke at 1:59, while Catanneo placed 17th at 2:05. 

Schultz placed eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:09.

Eddie Klinko placed fourteenth in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:08. 

The men’s swim team finished fourth in the ODAC tournament with 355 points.
