PEOPLE Magazine released the Best Dressed list of the 2024 Grammy attendees. Out of these three women, Taylor Swift won first place best dressed wearing a white Schiaparelli gown with a thigh-slit and black opera gloves.

Los Angeles, Ca.- The 66th Annual Grammy Awards honored the best of the best in the music industry on Feb. 4, 2024. Stars such as Miley Cyrus, Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift walked away with awards that evening.

After the awards show, PEOPLE Magazine came out with an article about who they thought were the top best dressers of the evening. That list included celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Janelle Monáe. Out of hundreds of nominees who attended the Grammys, only 15 were chosen for PEOPLE’s Best Dressed list.

PEOPLE Magazine awarded Taylor Swift, Janelle Monáe and Olivia Rodrigo the top three best dressed at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Swift came in at first, wearing a “white Schiaparelli gown with a thigh-slit, Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, black opera gloves, a custom made Lorraine Schwartz vintage watch that was turned into a choker and a deep red lip.”

Janelle Monáe came in second, looking timeless, wearing a custom Giorgio Armani Privé black bustier gown with a deep neckline. She accessorized with a “black leather Yeprem choker and a pair of David Yurman earrings.”

Coming in at third place, Olivia Rodrigo wore a vintage white Versace gown with detailed red beading, paired with a bold red lip. PEOPLE Magazine mentions that the Versace gown Rodrigo wore is “actually older than she is.”

People tend to wonder why do we as a society include things such as “Best Dressed” after award shows? Vox’s article by Emili Vesilind, “Award show best-dressed lists, explained,” goes on to talk about the things we may not know as an outside viewer. Vesilind said, “The celebrities who end up on these lists typically have a lot in common; most are impossibly thin, and nearly all are in a swishy, floor-length gown.”

Being named Best Dressed comes with a list of requirements. Factors such as popularity and designers have a major influence on who is included in the Best Dressed lists. Since almost all A-list celebrities work with big name stylists, it’s not necessarily about who has the “coolest” designer, because they almost all do. It is usually about who is trending at the time. Writers are always thinking about how much engagement their articles are going to get so it would only make sense to write about the celebrities that are trending at that moment and are going to bring the most views in.
