  • Throws coach, Joseph Brunner, talks to his athlete Junior Mike Smith and former athlete Peter Fulton. Brunner has been coach at Bridgewater since the fall of 2021.

  • Junior Mike Smith competes in throws and is throwing discus. Smith was named fourth on the Top Ten All time List for disc throws for Bridgewater College’s track and field team.

  • Peter Fulton, a 2023 graduate, comes back to throw unattached. Fulton threw the discus throw on Friday.

  • Freshman Antonio Harris walks up to compete in his event as Brunner watches. This was Harris’ second outdoor collegiate meet.

  • Smith competes in throws as Brunner watches. Smith was awarded USTFCCCA All-Region Honors in weight throw and shot put for the indoor track and field season.

  • Freshman Summer Wallace walks down the hallway after doing the high jump. Wallace competed in the high jump and the 200 meter run.

  • Senior Bowen Varney holding the door for people. Varney ran the 1500 at the meet.

  • Senior Elena Larcombe, junior Emily Smeds and junior Megan Wimmer get ready to race. Larcombe and Smeds competed in the steeple chase and Wimmer ran the 800 and 4×4.

  • Sophomore Olivia Bates warms up for the triple jump. Bates also is a huddler. She became ninth in program history for the 100 meter hurdles.

  • Larcombe, senior Sarah Earle, sophomore Regan Robinson and freshman Brandon Adamson talk about their races with one another. Earle was the only female running the 10k later that day.

  • Bates warms up for the triple jumps. There were 15 team schools that participated in this track meet. Bates talked about her events and said, “I thought that my events went well. It’s nice to see PR’s at this point in the season. It fills me with excitement to see the potential this season holds!”

  • Junior Kennedy Fauntleroy runs in lane one in the 100 meter dash. Fauntleroy talks about how the meet went for him and said, “I felt like the meet that just passed was a meet of shaking cobwebs off. I haven’t ran a 100m in over a year, plus I gained some muscle weight over that year. I missed track, soo seeing that I did not lose a step and actually feel like I’m faster is a blessing and definitely a blessing I can continue progressing on.”

  • The pole vaulting area before the pole vault started. The mats needed to be readjusted before the competition started.

  • Former Bridgewater College runner Vinny Leo holds his coffee and smiles at the camera. Leo came out to watch his former teammates compete. He was one of many former team members that came out to watch the meet. Kinley Woodard, Ashley Dodd, Ab Knight, Jacob Gregory, Peter Fulton and Connor Adkins are also former Bridgewater Cross Country and Track and Field athletes that came and supported their old teammates. Leo has gone on to be the Head Track and field coach at Wilson Memorial High School.

  • Senior Kyle Clanton leads in the 100 meter dash. Clanton also competes in the long jump. Last year, Clanton was named Second Team All-ODAC.

  • Spectators watch the meet from the stands. This was a two day meet that started on Friday and ended on Saturday afternoon.

  • Larcombe drinks hot chocolate after her race. She runs distance events for track and is also on the cross country team.

  • Grey sitting down and smiling while giving a peace sign. She came in sixth on the All-Time list for Bridgewater College for discus throw.

  • People walking around at the track meet. The ODAC Championship meet will be held at Bridgewater on April 26 and 27.

  • Grey, Canton and senior Anthony Matthews watch people run. This is Grey, Canton and Matthews’ second to last meet running on this track as Bridgewater students.

  • Heather Grant, Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, signs in runners and gives them their numbers for their event. This job is important so that athletes have their number stickers on when they are running their events.

  • Larcombe, senior Grace Howell, senior Haleigh Hamlin, senior Tony Cadle, Wallce, Bates, freshman Kasi Showers and Grey watch the men’s 400 race. Athletes hangout with one another before and after they compete to cheer their teammates on.

  • Freshman Walker Knicely runs the 400 event. Knicely is from Harrisonburg and is a sprinter and pole vaulter.

  • Freshman Izzy Green warming up for her event. Green ran in the 800 at the meet.

  • Head Coach Denver Davis walking past his runners. Davis has been coaching at Bridgwater since 2010.

  • Davis and sophomore Tyler Joshson fist bump each other. Johnson is a sprinter and hurdler at Bridgwater College. During the past indoor season, Johnson set a new personal record for the 60 meter hurdles.

  • Wallace and Bates walk to set up hurdles for the men. There are a lot of people that enable meets to run smoothly and sometimes athletes have to help out.
