Bridgewater, Va.- The 44th Ryder Cup is set to happen at Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome, Italy on September 29 to October 1 featuring Rory Mcllroy, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Scottie Scheffler.

The Ryder Cup is a golf event that has become one of the world’s most watched sporting events. Every two years, 24 of the best players are picked by captains from the United States and Europe to face off in a match play competition consisting of eight four ball matches, eight foursome matches and twelve singles matches.

“I really like the format in how they do the Ryder Cup because it makes it so that everyone has a part in their team winning,” said senior Grant Nyland.

This Ryder Cup matters greatly especially for the United States due to the fact that they have not won a Ryder Cup in Europe since the year 1995.

“This is a huge Ryder Cup and I have never been more excited,”said senior Hayden Gourley “The Europeans have been playing well this past year and the United States are looking to get a win in a place where they have not won in a long time, I can’t wait!”

The United States are looking to win back to back Ryder Cup which they have not done since 1991 and 1993.

Coverage of the first round will begin on Friday, September 29th at 1:30 a.m. until noon on USA network.
