Bridgwater Baseball Heads Down South For Spring Trip

The Bridgewater baseball team’s bus arrives early Thursday morning. Annually, the team takes a trip while the college is on spring break. This year, they headed down south to Georgia.

Junior second baseman, Nick Stavros, loads his bat bag onto the team bus. The Eagles began their drive to Demorest, Georgia, for their spring trip.

Nick Harris, a junior right-handed pitcher, makes his way to the bus. Harris started on the mound for the first game for the Eagles.

The team is all accounted for and ready to get the trip started. They looked at over 7 hours on the road!

Freshman pitcher, Tyler Truslow, and sophomore third baseman, Ashton Smith, collect Chick-fil-A for the team. Around the halfway mark of the trip, the bus stopped for the team to have lunch.

Saturday morning, the team wakes up early to grab a team meal at IHOP. They faced Greensboro College at 4 p.m., which resulted in a 6-4 win .

Despite the early morning, the temperature is pleasant compared to what the team is used to back home. The weather was beautiful as it was in the mid 70s all weekend.

After a successful trip, going 2-1 on the weekend, the team departs back to Virginia. They had a quick turnaround as they faced Mary Baldwin only two days after the trip. The team is set to face Virginia Wesleyan for a double header on Saturday, March 22.
