Bridgewater, Va.- “That ‘90s Show” is a new American teen sitcom that is set during the summer of 1995 and is a spin-off of the original hit “That ‘70s Show.” Featuring actors that were in the original, “That ‘90s Show” premiered on Netflix this January.

The show centers on Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of Eric Foreman and Donna Pinicotti, forming friendships with other teenagers in the area as she spends the summer of 1995 with her grandparents.

“So far I have really enjoyed watching this show and loved how progressive and funny it has been,” said junior Colby Smith. “I have also really liked how they have not forgotten about the old characters and brought them back. That is something that I have also really enjoyed.”

While taking a fresh approach on the classic, many fans praise how the show pays homage to the original.

“I really like how they have incorporated old elements from ‘That ‘70s Show’ into ‘That ‘90s Show,’ as well as how they have changed some things up a little, so that it is unique in its own way,” said junior Trevor McClelland.

When “That ‘70s Show” released, it gave the viewers a taste of what went on and what life was like back in the 70s, while still being a humorous show. Similarly, the modern day spinoff gives its viewers a peak into life in the 90s.

Since the show recently released, Netflix has not announced if there will be a season renewal. However, since the sitcom is already popular and on the cheaper side to produce, there is a high probability of a future season.

“I really hope that they come out with a second season to this show,” said Smith. “I think a lot of people would really like that.”
