Bridgewater, Va. – On Nov. 19, BCAllies met in McKinney 126 at 6 p.m. to have a chill day. At the meeting they played games and chatted about how classes were going, what their plans were over break and the things they were most excited about.

“In future meetings, we hope to continue discussing with students different identities, and about other holidays coming our way” said Gaver. “In February there is Aromantic awareness week and in March there is the Trans Day of Visibility.”

In the future, BCAllies wishes to put together a queer prom for the students that did not attend their school dance, either for closeted reasons or for being in unaccepting and uninviting environments.

President Garrett Etstep, Vice President Abby Gaver, and Social Media Coordinator Lauren Gibson, all class of 2023, also hope to host a drag show.

“I am really excited for the drag show we plan to host. I think drag is a really important part of the lgbtqia+ community and also really fun to watch and be a part of,” said Estep. “So I am really looking forward to planning that and to having people experience it as well.”

The next BCAllies meeting will be Friday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. in Mckinney 126.

“We plan to have board games, snacks and listen to music just to relax and have fun before winter break,” said Estep.
