BC Shooter Suspect Indicted by Grand Jury
The BC Strong sign was placed on campus after the shooting in Feb. 2022. Eleven months later, the judge determined the official date for the jury trial.

Bridgewater, Va.- The grand jury indicted alleged Bridgewater College shooter Alexander Wyatt Campbell on Nov. 21, determining that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial with the case.
Campbell is accused of the Feb. 1 shooting that took the lives of Police Officer John Painter and Safety Officer J.J. Jefferson.
He faces five different charges, including two counts of aggravated murder of multiple persons, aggravated murder of a law enforcement officer, murder in the first degree and the use of a firearm in a felony.
The next court date is set for Dec. 19 at 9:00 a.m.
